There was a time, not so long ago,
When love was enough to let us grow.
When a hug could heal and words could mend,
And hearts were the things we’d always depend.
We didn’t crave the spotlight or chase after fame,
Just the comfort of a friend who called your name.
A simple chat could lift your soul,
And time moved slow, its pace so whole.
Now everything moves so fast,
And we’ve traded our truths for things that won’t last.
Faces behind screens, hearts growing cold,
Chasing after dreams that are bought and sold.
I’ve seen both worlds, and I still feel torn,
Between the old way and the new one we’ve worn.
I long for the days when love was enough,
When kindness and honesty were never tough.
But even now, I carry those days in my heart,
The ones where we didn’t feel so far apart.
Even though the world has turned and changed,
I believe the old ways should never be estranged.
So while the world may turn away,
I’ll hold on to what I know today.
The simple truth that love’s still the key,
When hearts were enough,
that’s where I’ll always be.💖
